'Mud-ball Making' Galore ~ Save Mother Earth!!

So, the very first thing that I noticed when I was routinely visiting my college's Facebook profile for some juicy gossips and interesting news a few days back was this post urging students to participate in a 'Mud-ball Making' Session, organized by our college, at Hunza Property (Kelawai Road) on the 23rd July 2009!! As usual, I jumped at the chance to do something MEANINGFUL and BENEFICIAL rather than rotting and wasting my life away in my room as I am FREAKIN FREE (Pardon my language.. but I wanted to emphasized on the word 'FREE' because its so DAMN true) for the time being. Thus, begins my first 'Mud-ball Making" experience!!



Once we reached our destination (By the way, thanks Miss Queenie for the lift.!!XDXD) we were greeted by a Miss (Gosh.. I forgot her name!! I ll jus label her as Miss EM for the time being...(TT")) who gave us a talk/presentation of what is in the mud-balls that we are about to make and what role does it play in cleaning up our river system stuffs. She also showed us some slides on rivers that have been successfully cleaned and cleared up by using this seemingly primative method!! Believe me it REALLY WORKS and you must really see it to believe it!! It was really a sight to behold..Not saying that I am in anyways a sceptic to this method!!

So.. It BEGINS!!! I ll let the pictures do the TALKING!!

Creating the 'Starbucks' Experience~

Thus... Ends my brief two months as a Starbuck's Barrista experience officially!!

Except for the fact that I wrongly interpreted the time that my Starbuck's partner send to me a few days back (I was waiting at the doorsteps of New World Park's Starbucks at approximately 8.45 am, thinking that for my last day I was given the morning shift which is from 9am to 1pm when actually I was given the night shift which is from 9pm to 1am.), everything just went on smoothly and I actually finish all my duties earlier than usual as it was not really a busy night!!

So.. What are my thoughts and opinions after working in Starbucks with some of the top barristas for two months??

Well.. I can assure you it is NOT a walk in the park!! I never thought that being a barrista can be so HARD, I mean, I used to think that its all just about making drinks and stuffs so how hard can it be?? I never took into consideration the mockery and the scolding that I will received from the seniors once I started workin there!! Practically everyday I will get it from them and they can REALLY be UNPLEASANT. But I don't really blame them for it as it was usually my MISTAKES that kinda gives them the opportunity to get into SCOLDING mode!!

But, logically speaking, how can you expect a newbie like me to be as SKILLFUL and MASTERFUL as the senior barristas there, some of which have been working for years?? I mean I tried my best to follow their every step but you can't expect me to be as fast as them like so soon... right?? I mean... between all of them (around 9 partners, excluding me though..), they might have make about.. like what? 1000 or 2000 cups of beverages?? Of course they are already used to it!! The HECK they can even close their eyes doing beverages for the customers. BUT ME?? I don't think I even manage to make 50 cups of beverages during my time there... So, in my opinion, MISTAKES are sure to happen!! But it might differs with some of you guys who can take up SOMETHING OR ANYTHING today and MASTER it the very next day. (I sincerely RESPECT this group of people!! *salutes*)

Take this one time.. I forgot the drizzle (Just to make the drink look nice and identifiable..), I mean, sometimes SHIT do happen right?? You may know every SINGLE DAMN PROCEDURE like the back of your hand already but you kinda experience a sudden memory lost and just experience a total 'whiteout' for that very split second, which was what happen to me exactly and guess what?? Yup.. BINGO!!! You got it right.. I was given a vicious backlash by one of the seniors right at the counter, right in front of all the customers, right in front of that PARTICULAR customer that ORDERED the drink!! Everyone was basically looking at the free show that was happening at that moment and to finished things up, my senior even took out the beverage file and threw it on the counter for the added special effect!! But.. as usual.. I don't hold any grudges towards him because, like seriously, it was all because of my MISTAKE that gave rise to his tirades of remarks!! Don't get me wrong.. I still respect this guy but I just can't quite agree with the way he teaches or scolds people because it has been mentioned during our training lessons (Yup.. New barristas have to undergo a particular training program before they can actually be confirmed as barristas) that if a partner or partners (This is what we call our colleagues working in the shop) does something wrong, they are not supposed to scold them there and then right in front of the customers but to kinda do it BEHIND the shop. This was what kinda make me SAD.. call me a COWARD but his scoldings ACTUALLY gave me the PHOBIA of making drinks which later on became the HOT ISSUE among the partners in the store that I am running away from making drinks and stuffs such as I don't like being taught by people etc etc.

Here in my blog.. I can FINALLY RAISED MY DEFENCE that I AM NOT A COWARD and I AM NOT RUNNING AWAY FROM MAKING DRINKS and NO I NEVER, I repeat, I NEVER SHOWED THAT I DON"T LIKE BEING TAUGHT BY PEOPLE!! Heck.. How many times have you guys scolded me but did I ever even RETALIATE a single bit?? All that I did was carry on SMILING and NODDING my head because I know I am WRONG and I am GRATEFUL that I am being taught by you guys!! I mean.. COME ON.. Its not like I am a kid or something!! I am 22 yrs old for GODSAKE!! I know HOW to keep my TEMPER in check when I FREAKIN NEED to!!

Ok.. FINALLY I can let go of what I had been wanting to say for so long!! It feels GREAT, like a BURDEN has been LIFTED from my chest!! Since I have already said it out here.. I shall and will ERASED this unpleasant memory as a Barrista from my MIND!! And if YOU, yes YOU THAT GAVE ME THAT SCOLDING, are reading this.. I don't hold any grudges against you because I know you are just doing your job as a senior and I am thankful for what you have guided me through during my short time there!! Thanks..=)

In fact, to all those that manage to gave me a horrid time there, I don't hold any grudges against you guys!! You guys have been AMAZING.. and when I said that you guys were some of the best barristas, I REALLY DO MEAN IT!! I really learnt quite a lot of things there.. BUT maybe being a BARRISTA is just not my cup of tea, or coffee in this case!! But all in all.. THANKS to all of you that have guided me through the beginning of my 'STARBUCKS EXPERIENCE' and I will miss you guys a lot. Hopefully we can still hang out sometimes as normal friends and just NOT talk about coffee for a single day...

Specially to Lydia, Beng, Joanne, Liew, Jon, Keat, Cheah Ni, Rainee, Theing, Tatt

It has been a wonderful experience working with you guys although I do admit we did have our Ups and Downs but REST ASSURE I really am NOT HOLDING any GRUDGES against you guys because I fully understand that teamwork is a CRUCIAL FACTOR in an INTERNATIONAL FRANCHISE like Starbucks and we ARE a TEAM when we put on our uniform, our appron and the cowboy straw hat!!! *wink wink* =P

Hopefully, in the near future we can meet under a different circumstances and just laugh about what happened during my time there and all the wrong drinks that I make which make you guys go 'alamak, why you so hopeless' !! =P

Transformers Mania~

Ok ok... I know you guys probably think that this is kinda outdated or something already but pray PLEASE let me just use this topic as a "PRACTICE round" for blogging!!!

No... I am NOT gonna talk/review about the MOVIE as obviously most of you have already watch this blockbuster hit at least once since its RELEASED in Malaysia. I myself watch it twice because I just couldn't get enough of the AWESOME CGI-created robots, the battle scenes, (Especially the one at the beginning of the movie and also the part where Big OP took on 3 Decepticons all by himself) and OF COURSE Megan Fox!!! XDXD~

Anyway, back to the topic, what I am gonna 'blog' (AM still trying to figure out what in the WORLD make me set up this blog..) is about the TOYS that were released prior to the movie which I, as a collector since I was small, started collecting again!! I know this might sound kinda childish to you guys out there but WHAT THE HECK, right? Cuz its all about me in this blog... Just all about me!!! So BEAR with me PLEASE!!! XDXD~

Ok... This toys are not EXACTLY cheap if I may say so myself because it cost RM59.90 for a Deluxe Class Transformer, RM119 for a Voyager Class Transformer, and RM249 for a Leader Class Transformer. I can hear some of you guys back there saying that its WAY TOO EXPENSIVE a hobby which I have here but, well, like I said, WHAT THE HECK, right?? I mean its not the cheap, imitation kinda Transformers that I am talking abut here, its the ORIGINAL ones that I am collecting!! Straight out of Hasbro and Takara Tomy (For those who have never heard of Takara Tomy, they are the ORIGINAL inventors of the Transformers who sold their RIGHTS over the Transformers to Hasbro but is still allowed to produce them under their company's name). But I do admit, its REALLY kinda expensive but, as I said before, its my hobby so I have no qualms about spuldging some $ on it. I just need to save here a bit save there a bit eat a little bit less skip some meals.... you will get the idea!!

At the time I published this post, I currently have 5 Voyager Class Transformers (Voyager Class Optimus Prime, Voyager Class Ironhide, Voyager Class Ratchet, Voyager Class Megatron/Galvatron and Voyager Class Starscream) and 9 Deluxe Class Transformers (Deluxe Class Bumblebee, Deluxe Class Chromia, Deluxe Class Smokescreen, Deluxe Class Sideswipe, Deluxe Class Skids, Deluxe Class Mudflap, Deluxe Class Ravage, Deluxe Class Sideways and Deluxe Class Soundwave). As for Leader Class Transformers, its kinda out of my league at the moment although I kinda have my eyes set on 3 Leader Class Transformers that have been released recently, namely Leader Class Optimus Prime, Leader Class Jetfire and Leader Class Megatron/Galvatron, so IF I save here a bit save there a bit...Hopefully!!

OK...For those who are Transformers fans, albeit not 100% kinda fans, you might be wondering where I got some of those Transformers, as currently in the market there are only a few kinds that you can choose from (Last check by me at some leading toy stores, was that you can still ONLY find Deluxe Class Skids, Deluxe Class Wheelie, Deluxe Class Chromia and Voyager Class Demolisher). Well, for the more common ones... I bought them straight from leading toy stores and also from those shops that sells Collectibles and Models!! For the rarer ones such as Deluxe Class Ravage and Deluxe Class Mudflap, I got them through eBay!! It was kinda an interesting experience for me as this is the very first few times that I had dealt through eBay!! Imagine my anxiousness just waiting for some of the models that I bought through eBay.. Questions such as "Was I conned?"; "Will my parcel actually arrive?"; "Will my things be in MISB condition or are they just BIB?"; "Will my parcel be in good shape?"; "Will my parcel that I paid with my hard earned cash be LOST in the post?" or "Will the contents be in good condition?" keeps running through my head!! But in the end... I NEVER did face any of this kinda situations so it was like an eye-opener to me that in this world there are still HONEST people out there. (Currently, I am bidding for a Voyager Class The Fallen through eBay which is gonna end any time now!! So wish me luck...XDXD)

So.. Childish for me to be collecting such things at such an age?? Well, my good friends, try your hand at transforming one of the robots, prefarably a Voyager Class or a Leader Class one, believe me you will CRY!!! The very first time I tried to transform the movie version's Voyager Class Ironhide, it took me an hour or so to figure it out!!! No joke here... If it wasn't for the review that I found though Youtube, it would have took me longer!!

REMINDER.. Its no child's toy so don't look down on it!!!

Ok.. Thats about all for now!!! I will be trying to upload photos of my collections with some DETAILED facts about each and every one of the Transformers characters/toys that I currently have once I get the hang of it so please stay tuned for those who have the time to spare to look at all this craps that I am writing here!!!

A new BLOGGER is BORN~

OK... Firstly, I NEVER had the SLIGHTEST thought of starting a blog!!!
(AM still pondering and wondering WHY I even STARTED blogging..(=="))

Reasons for NOT starting ONE before...
1) I thought that it was a waste of time to BORE people to DEATH with matters or things like what I DID today, what I ATE today bla bla bla and the LIST goes ON!!!
2) I did not see the NEED of having one since Facebook, Twitter and Friendster already, in my opinion, is already sufficient to keep track on what my friends and family members are DOING!!
(Ya.. I know you guys had a BBQ party without me)
3) I was PANICKING over my preparations for the LLB exams.
(Now now now.. Don't ROLL YOUR EYES UP, I was really BUSY preparing for my exams because, for those who do not know me, I FUCKIN FAILED my 1st exams last year and that kinda serves as a WARNING to me!!!)
4) I VOWED that I won't be addicted to any online games so I tried my hardest to STAY AWAY from the com!!! (Silly?? I think so too...)

So, that brings us to WHY THE HECK I started one NOW???

Reasons for STARTING one NOW...
1) I am DAMN bored... Its jus a way to FILL UP my spare time which I have PLENTY.
2) Everyone seems to be having one... Don't feel like being the BLACK SHEEP!! *wink wink*
3) Just an EASY way to brush up on my TYPING SKILLS and also my WRITING SKILLS..
(Trust me, my TYPING SKILLS sucks BIG TIME... (TT"))
4) GOSSIPS!!! Who does not like to gossip around... XDXD
